Marketing Analyst/SAS Programmer

The Marketing Analyst will support Marketing in establishing an enterprise reporting structure to provide meaningful data to the business, including understanding and interpreting business strategies and systems for Products and Programs. Partner with the business to explain variances, understand trends and predict future impacts on the business to enable decision making by Marketing.


In this position, you will work closely with Senior Leadership Team and Finance to determine the key performance indicators and metrics needed to manage the business.

Facilitate decision making for Marketing by providing timely and accurate Product/Program and customer information.

Data enablement: Identify, extract and summarize datasets/files through the joining of multiple large and complex tables and/or systems (i.e., Oracle, db2, MS SQL server, Access, etc) using software such as SAS and Business Objects.

Responsible for taking summarized and enriched data sets and turning into meaningful Marketing insight to be able to support the business strategy.

Provide ‘state of the business’ reporting, performing ad hoc, detailed analysis to meet business needs, including explanation of variances and impact to business.

Create reporting structure that can be leveraged across the business unit.

Provide Product/Program reporting that includes revenue and units per channel / business segment.

Provide reporting and modeling to turn information so it is actionable to business.

As a subject matter expert, you will partner with Product/Program Managers to help drive decisions regarding Product/Programs, i.e., continue, grow, sunset, harvest, etc.

Perform quantitative efforts and employs appropriate / innovative analytic techniques to support strategic efforts.

Design, develops and interprets business analysis utilizing enterprise databases.

Extract pertinent information from enterprise database.

Develop and organizes reports and presentations illustrating critical findings / implications / opportuntities.


OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:


Consultative skills to bring financial / analytical perspective to the strategic planning process.

Strong analytical and business acumen skills.

Ability to interpret and explain analytics so is meaningful and actionable by business partners.

Organizational savvy with ability to know where to obtain relevant information needed by the business in their decision making.

Strong leadership and influencing abilities.

Strong partnering skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Strong query tool knowledge (i.e., Business Objects, SQL, SAS).

Strong spreadsheet (Excel/Access) and database knowledge.


EDUCATION:
B.S. / B.A. Degree in Finance or related field or Data Analytics, or equivalent experience.


EXPERIENCE:
5+ years relevant business experience, including analytical reporting

Experience working with the business as an advisor utilizing analytics and reporting.

Expertise and experience needed in all Deluxe business units preferred.

3 – 5 years SAS programming experience.
