Technical Engineer
Our client is seeking a high-energy individual to join the Information Technology team. The team goal is to support an office of 45 employees and maintain and optimize the firms infrastructure. The candidate should be a dedicated problem solver who can multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Responsibilities
Provide level 3 desktop support from desktop applications to hardware deployment
Support the installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of proprietary financial applications
Creation and maintenance of procedural documentation
Evaluating and/or recommending purchases and new technologies
Contact software and hardware vendors to request service regarding defective products and/or problems
Test software and hardware to evaluate ease of use and whether product will aid user in performing work
24x7 on-call duties as needed
Required Skills
Knowledge of configuration practices of system hardware and operating systems
Understanding of Microsoft Windows Server user administration
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Possess a highly professional demeanor
Extremely detail-oriented
Knowledge of the Microsoft environment, including but not limited to Operating System and Office applications.
Knowledge of networking including switches and network protocols (i.e. TCP/IP, SMTP, FTP, DHCP).
Proven ability to multi-task and handle a high volume of work with extreme accuracy and to adjust to changing priorities
Outgoing, experienced, professional personality comfortable around senior leadership
Ability to anticipate needs and solve problems independently, act with appropriate urgency and to follow through on assignments
Background Requirement
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or closely related field
2+ years practical hands on experience in the IT function
The demonstrated ability to organize your work and multitask, are also essential, as is the ability to operate independently and proactively.
