THE POSITION: The Managing Consultant reports to the Area Service Director and will be the project lead and architect for our client in what is mostly a Novell to Microsoft migration, both directories and messaging. It is a very large environment comprised of several NDS directories, new Active Directory forests and many older NT domains. The project duraton will be 2-3 years.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Will consult with client business unit managers to understand their requirements. • Elicits information from users for necessary inclusion to existing project documentation as directed for implementation. • Scope and map out project and manage project team to meet project deadlines. (Program Management). • Provide guidance, management oversight and continuous evolvement of development methodology for all architect resources to ensure consistent, high quality development. • Oversee weekly project management meetings to stay in tune with ongoing project needs, status updates, presales, etc. • Assist Area Service Director with resource and financial forecasting. • Act as escalation point when internal conflicts occur.
REQUIREMENTS: • Strong directory services design skills, preferably including prior experience in large Novell to Microsoft domain migrations, formats and related tasks. • Be capable of successfully performing information gathering, analysis and documentation tasks as well as actual hands on creation and/or modification of directory structures. • 12-15 years of related professional services experience, in roles of increasing responsibility in the design/architect arena. • Four year technical or management degree (preferred). • Experience leading and managing remote resources. • Excellent leadership, coaching, management and communication skills. • Direct, client facing consulting experience on professional services engagements. • Professional appearance and demeanor. • Team dynamics and independent resourcefulness.
