Contract position for Fortune 500 Manufacturing Company
Job Responsibilities:
Primarily responsibility is for managing product development and maintenance projects for the postal scale product offering.
Essential Duties:
● Manage activities and timelines related to product updates related to quality improvement and postal rate changes.
● Collaborate with division to ensure consistency in product specifications and performance on shared SKU’s.
● Work with US based marketing and R&D and Asian based R&D and manufacturing sites on product requirements.
● Ensure products meet all cost, quality timeline and performance objectives.
● Qualify all existing products and clean up product specifications and drawings.
Educational Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Work Experience Requirements:
● A minimum of 3 years Product Development experience in a manufacturing company.
● Proven ability to engineer products and manage projects through production start.
● Experience with development of consumer products is preferred.
● Experience in creating product performance specifications and 2D/3D product documentation is required.
● Experience working in a team environment and strong English communication skills (written and verbal) are required.
● Proven ability to handle the development of multiple projects (5+) simultaneously.
Technical Experience Requirements:
● Proficient in Pro/E Wildfire 2.0 or above for 3D modeling and 2D drawings.
● Knowledgeable in principles of design for injection molding, extrusion, metal fabrication, progressive die stamping and assembly.
● Knowledgeable in design for manufacturability.
● Knowledgeable in plastic material performance and selection.
● Proven project management skills and experience with MS Projects.
● Proficient in MS Office applications.
● Familiarity with USB, UL, CE, FCC and other such regulatory approvals a plus.
Additional Information:
● Position would be located Oak Brook, IL.
● Position would report to Product Development Manager or Engineering Leader
