Job Description - Senior IT Security Engineer
We are looking for a senior IT security engineer to provide advanced systems support for Federal Government systems located in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will possess the following:
• Hands-on experience with CiscoWorks & Access Control Server (ACS) (Work: 25%)
• Experience with installing and maintaining Nessus plug-ins, NMAP, MySql and port scanners on *nix systems (Work: 50%)
• Hands-on experience with Intrusion Detection System (IDS) particularly Snort and Cisco IDS and IPS (Work 5%)
• Experience with Cisco VPN technology and creating site-to-site VPN tunnels and maintaining Cisco client based VPN infrastructure (Work 15%)
• Experience with installing/configure/maintaining Cisco Switches and routers. (Work 5%)
Some specific tasks include:
• Work on CISCOWORKS and 42XX series of CISCO IDSs to event, log and report vulnerabilities on a regular basis.
• Generate IDS reports on a regular basis and work with field offices to help mitigate potential vulnerabilities on Windows systems.
• Maintain Nessus systems that scan for vulnerabilities in the IT network.
• Work with ISSO in helping the office formalize IT security policies and procedures.
• Analyze firewall and IDS logs to identify, verify, escalate and mitigate security alerts.
• Create and provide support for VPN tunnels running on Cisco equipment.
• Scan the network for potential vulnerabilities and generate reports for upper management.
