SAP Basis Administrator
Location: Racine, Wisconsin
This individual will support global SAP system projects and deployments. This role is essential to the design, development, implementation, and ongoing operation of all SAP system components from a technical perspective (ERP, XI, BI, etc.). The successful candidate should have experience performing hands-on technical administration of an SAP ECC 6.0 environment, Unix OS environment, as well as Oracle database administration experience.
Duties:
The SAP basis administrator is responsible for configuring, tuning, securing, and monitoring our core enterprise applications built upon SAP ECC 6.0, Business Intelligence (BI) 7.0, Solution Manager 4.0 on AIX UNIX server and Oracle databases.
Carry out the daily support maintenance, configuration, and performance of an SAP ECC 6.0 and BI 7.0 systems.
Define and implement SAP architectures that effectively support the business, and are compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley segregation of duties requirements.
Collaborate with SAP worldwide application delivery groups and integrators in multiple countries, supporting their technical basis needs such as non-production transports, data copies, technical parameter settings, performance monitoring, etc.
Design and implement formal change management processes, and ensure controls and disciplines are in place to safeguard production environments from pre-mature or unwanted updates.
Direct, coordinate resources, and work with our Hosting Service provider. Act as a technical liaison with our hosting service provider to ensure availability, coordination of technical activities.
Provide recommendations and guidance for the tuning and optimization of the SAP landscape. Initiate discussion and coordinate with our hosting vendor and application delivery groups the implementation of all environment and client changes.
Configure and execute SAP change control functions including the transport management system (TMS) and batch jobs management across our instances.
Research and provide directions to our hosting vendor for SAP software corrections including SAP OSS notes and SAP support packages.
SAP system troubleshooting and problem solving, as well as day-to-day monitoring and administration of SAP systems
Establish operational discipline through the application of best practice policies and procedures for the SAP operations area.
Requirements:
SAP software implementation experience, 3+ years experience as an SAP Basis Administrator role supporting SAP’s R/3 or ECC platforms Basic knowledge of Unix OS (in particular AIX), and Oracle 10 DB. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or an analytical discipline
Strong trouble shooting skills
Strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, culture-sensitive

Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
Excellent team skills and high degree of self-motivation, commitment and integrity
