Senior Software Development System Architect/Project Manager
Job Description:
This successful System Architect/Project Manager will oversee a group of senior to mid-range developers. The individual will interfacing with customers to architect software used in medical devices in an FDA regulated industry. This top notch person will also utilize their significant technical skills to identify, design, implement, and deliver quality software and firmware applications integrated with various hardware, and other connected devices. Ability to work closely with customers, lead others, understand problems, and present quality solutions is required. The consistent ability to successfully interact with important customers on a daily basis is vital to fulfilling the role.
The majority of this company’s clients develop medical devices regulated by the FDA. A solid understanding of FDA’s 21 CFR Part 820 – Quality System Regulation and ISO-13485 Quality Systems requirements is required.
The System Architect/Project Manager and the Senior Software/Firmware Engineers under their direct report will be responsible for, but not limited to, PC and micro processor based software development, software/hardware integration, writing correspondence and documentation, system verification and validation, customer interaction and training, as necessary.
The position will require planning and executing multiple projects at one time and successfully guiding and reviewing other engineers through all phases of the project’s development. Successfully interacting and communicating with the customer’s management and closely managing the project’s profitability are also required. Occasional overnight travel may be required during critical periods of a project.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
o A MS/BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
o Minimum of 10 years solid software development experience required. However this company is also looking for developers in the 3 to 9 year range of experience as well.
o Proven past history of successfully leading a team of talented developers.
o Demonstrated leadership and project management skills are required.
o Desires past experience developing medical device software.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
o Experience in one or more of the following technologies, is required: .NET, C#, C/C++, Visual Basic, Embedded Linux. C# is the most desired skill set. This position is hands on technical.
o Experience with serial communications or TCP/IP is a plus.
o Experience with Rational Rose, Telelogic DOORS, and OOA/D methodologies are a plus.
