Senior Network Engineer
The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Phoenix Data Center Network and Security Environment. Responsibilities include installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and management of: switches, routers, firewalls, intrusion detection, and VPN devices. This person must carry a pager and be on-call. This is a senior-level Network position responsible for network infrastructure improvements to Enterprise Class networks. This position provides analysis, design, and implementation of network upgrades in the client's Enterprise network
The successful candidate will be expected to carry out the following tasks:
Conduct detailed site network assessments and prepare network design proposals. Develop and execute network upgrade implementation plans, including equipment procurement, change scheduling, and logistics.
Analyze performance, reliability, and security of critical network areas.
Maintain network current state documentation and diagrams.
Essential Skills Required:
Experience with TCP/IP and associated protocols.
Knowledge of routing protocols such as EIGRP, RIP, and OSPF.
Experience maintaining and configuring Cisco routers and switches using both CatOS and IOS.
Knowledge of VLANs, trunking, and spanning tree protocol.
Experience with Authentication services such as TACACS+, RADIUS, and RSA SecurID.
Experience with hardware load balancing - foundry preferred
Experience creating and supporting site to site and client VPNs.
Experience maintaining and configuring firewalls (CheckPoint, Cisco PIX, Netscreen)
Experience with Network Intrusion Detection tools such as Dragon, Snort, ISS RealSecure.
Cisco CCNA / CCNP certifications desired.
Minimum eight years experience in networking.
Data center network design and support.
Intermediate cable plant skills will be required
Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems.
The US Tier1 Services Delivery team is responsible for implementation, operations, and 24x7x365 support of hosted CGI applications and services.
The US Tier 1 Team is a leveraged organization and many of our members support multiple client projects. These client contracts may require background checks for all members working within the client environment. Additionally, some require screening above and beyond what is required as standard screening for CGI employment in the US; to include, but not limited to, additional criminal history, drug screening and credit reporting in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. These background checks are client specific and in most cases are not transferable from one client account to the next. In order to meet the requirements of a leveraged organization, members of the US Tier 1 team may be required to complete multiple background checks during their career at CGI. All new hires into the US Tier 1 team will be required to complete client background check requests within the timeframe stated in the client contract, as a condition of employment with CGI.
