VMWare Server Admin
We are seeking an experienced VMware Server Admin with ESX 3 support, installation and deployment skills, for our growing Virtualization and Consolidation team. The ideal candidate will have strong consultative skills and relevant experience in VMware ESX Server, Microsoft Active Directory and other disciplines as listed below. The Systems Admin may also engage in the delivery of Virtualization solutions in the areas of: storage, backup, and networking.
The candidate possesses an indepth knowledge of “virtualization” including but not limited to the vendors: VMware, Xen, Virtual Iron, Micro Soft and Sun.
The position requires an individual to use advanced skills in consulting and troubleshooting methodology, server infrastructure concepts, documentation standards, organization and time management. In this role you will provide technical expertise and support in the following areas:
* VmWare ESX Server 3.0
* Basic trouble shooting of Hardware and Installed Software
* POC lab, Production, and Disaster Recovery Environments
* Performance Monitoring
* Project Management
* Backup and Restore
* Microsoft Active Directory
* Database/SAN/iSCSI
* Networking (Cisco Switches, Vlan, etc.)
* Security (F5, Firewall)
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Certifications required: MCSE & VCP
Consultative Skills & Experience
* Excellent communication and documentation skills
* Strong analytical and exceptional troubleshooting skills
* Strong project management and organization skills
* Able to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously
Systems & Networking Disciplines
* VMware ESX Server and Virtual Center installation, configuration and troubleshooting
* Microsoft Active Directory 2003 administration experience
* Experience with and understanding of Virtual Center, VMotion, DRS and HA.
* Experience deploying ESX servers (standalone and clustered).
* Knowledge of VMFS and ESX command line tools.
* Experience in writing scripts (Bash, Perl).

The US Tier 1 Team is a leveraged organization and many of our members support multiple client projects. These client contracts may require background checks for all members working within the client environment. Additionally, some require screening above and beyond what is required as standard screening for CGI employment in the US; to include, but not limited to, additional criminal history, drug screening and credit reporting in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act. These background checks are client specific and in most cases are not transferable from one client account to the next. In order to meet the requirements of a leveraged organization, members of the US Tier 1 team may be required to complete multiple background checks during their career at CGI. All new hires into the US Tier 1 team will be required to complete client background check requests within the timeframe stated in the client contract, as a condition of employment with CGI.
