 Position Title: UNIX Systems Admin w/Windows exp.
Pay rate: Negotiable
Extended Term: 6 months - 2 years
# of positions: 3

The NIF IT operations team is looking for a UNIX systems administrator with Windows Server experience to join our world class team and support the world's largest laser.
The environment is heterogeneous, complex, and provides exposure to many different types of hardware and software.
The successful candidate will drive resolution to live site incidents, determine root cause, implement projects, and help to improve operations.

Essential Duties:
- Day to day coordination of the live site
- Occasional on call duties
- Coordinate UNIX/Linux servers
- Work with internal operations and customers to drive improvements
- Incident coordination, tracking, and resolution
- Automation of routine tasks
- Deep dives into tough problems to help improve the environment

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- 5+ years UNIX/Linux Server experience in an enterprise environment
- Experience with Windows Server administration (2000/2003)
- Scripting/coding experience, (PERL/Shell scripting/Sed/Awk/Expect/C++/Python/VBScript,C#/etc)
- Expertise managing a UNIX/Linux/Windows environment using the command line interface

Desired Skills:
- Networking experience, Cisco preferred
- Database experience (Oracle MS SQL, MySQL, etc)
- SAN/NAS/DAS experience in an enterprise environment
