Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Design portions of a project related to mechanical systems.
2. Research catalogs and websites for commercially available equipment.
3. Specify equipment based on project needs and available technologies.
4. Research code requirements.
5. Input data into computer programs.
6. Listen to client and maintain good client relations.
7. Calculates costs and time schedules for proposed work.
8. Maintain project design notebook and provide documentation for permanent record files.
9. Coordinate design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, technology, clerical and equipment suppliers.
10. Monitor project design progress as related to fee expended.
11. Document design decisions, meetings, and instructions from client.
12. Review all project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.
13. Recommend changes and/or improvements that result in less production costs.
14. Prepares and issues addendum information.
15. Recognizes potential project problems quickly and seeks advice of the Project Manager.
16. Review design methods, procedures, changes in scope, and client correspondence with the Project Manager.
17. Review all files to determine project scope and personnel involved.
18. Coordinate and work with assigned personnel
