My client, a St. Louis based company creating sophisticated communication products, is looking for a Business Analyst to work on extremely technical commercial software development products.
SCOPE OF OPPORTUNITY
Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Project Management, Technical Staff (designers, developers, etc) and the Test Team to document, interpret and trace requirements from initial articulation through elaboration, design, construction and test.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with product management to document the vision and scope of the project.
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, and workflow analysis.
Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those who must base their work on the requirements.
Lead requirements analysis and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, traceable, unambiguous, and verifiable, and that they conform to standards.
Work closely with the development team and the subject matter experts to resolve issues.
Identify common elements and work with the technical design to leverage commonality where appropriate.
Monitor and track change requests.
Work with the technical design team to develop a business design that is consistent with the technical architecture.
Work with the testing Lead to define the testing process, which includes quality assurance, regression, and acceptance test cycles.
Work to maintain consistency and knowledge sharing between the business analysis, technical design, and development team.
Contributes to project plans and estimating metrics by evaluating delivery efficiency.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Three years of experience as a business analyst on at least 2 different projects.
Experience on enterprise software projects using RUP.
Bachelor’s degree.
Excellent interpersonal skills, project planning and tracking, and knowledge of business requirements.
Practical application of Rational Unified Process
Experience with analysis and testing, and developing use case models.
Strong Interpersonal Skills and Issue Resolution Skills are a must.
Experience working with process control systems is desirable.
Experience in the use of the Rational Toolset, such as Rational Rose, Clear Case, Clear Quest and Requisite Pro is desirable.
Experience in Unified Modeling Language desirable.
Experience in public utility or telecommunications domain areas is also desirable.
