QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Associate degree in computer science or equivalent work experience with computer systems desirable.
2. Three to five years of experience working with computers and networks. Experience in educational organizations is preferred.
3. Experience with break/fix repair, software troubleshooting, hardware and software
installation /upgrades. Competent to diagnose and repair hardware and software issues
via proper path of troubleshooting in order to resolve issues quickly and accurately the
first time.
4. Ability to set priorities and work well under pressure with attention to detail.
5. Self motivated with the ability to work with minimal direction.
6. Must be well organized, have good oral and written communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
7. Valid Ohio driver’s license and insured vehicle for onsite repairs.
8. Ability to lift 35lbs without assistance.
9. Experienced with Unix, Perl, Apple OS X server, enterprise mail server and web-based
e-mail a plus.
10. Such alternatives to the above as deemed appropriate by the Treasurer/Director of Business Affairs.
REPORTS TO:
Treasurer /Director of Business Affairs
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participates in all phases of technological equipment repair services including maintaining the District’s status/relationship as an Authorized Apple Support Provider.
2. Assists in the operation and maintenance of the district voice, video and data network.
3. Works with EMIS staff to provide necessary technical support to achieve the initiatives of data distribution and use throughout the district.
4. Works cooperatively with the Senior Technician.
5. Must maintain Apple Certified Desktop and Portable Technician status (ACDT and ACPT).
6. Provides direct technical training and assistance to building computer support personnel.
7. Develops and maintains professional, personal skills and knowledge of emerging technologies necessary to execute the functions of a Computer Technician.
8. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
260 Days (250 work days, 10 paid holidays); 8 hours per day excluding lunch; number of days of vacation and salary as determined by negotiated agreement. Work year to be established by the Board of Education.
START DATE: JULY 2, 2007
SALARY: $17.57/HR. TO $21.79/HR. (07-08)
