Strata has offices in Champaign and Chicago IL, with consulting and support based primarily in the Chicago office.
The IT Associate will work directly with the integrated business systems and local area networks. This position is *hands-on* and requires a person experienced in day-to-day operations, providing IT support to all functional areas of Strata (Consulting, Client support, and Development).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
1. Provide the link between the technical resources in the IT department and the functional areas and user groups
2. Provide resources and support as needed for all business systems and network changes, upgrades, etc.
3. Provide technical support to functional areas to develop business process reporting tools, enabling measurement for continuous improvement.
4. Assist with the development of documentation of business applications, and networks.
5. Develop and maintain access control, security and back up procedures and programs for business applications and networks, while supporting the functional areas with procedures and programs to insure integrity of all databases.
6. Provide *on call* and *off hour* resources and support to the functional areas and user groups when business process and network issues arise on an *as needed* basis.
This position will require daily utilization and problem solving skills with respect to the following technologies (candidate does not need to be skilled in all the following areas but needs to be knowledgeable on most):
o Windows NT/2000/XP (required) MCSE preferred
o Citrix (Required)
o Microsoft SQL database
o VB
o TCP/IP
o Lotus Domino
Knowledge of high level hardware such as content switches, VPN concentrators, SAN and WAN infrastructure skills would be useful but non-mandatory
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Strong analytical skills * the ability to assist in resolving various systems issues for multiple integrated locations and systems.
Ability to deploy, monitor, maintain, develop, upgrade, and support all IT systems, including business systems, servers, Databases, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals.
Knowledge of standard software applications and hardware configurations in an integrated Microsoft environment.
Time management and organizational skills are imperative.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with all levels of management and personnel.
Ability to learn quickly and apply learned principles
