Wordclass Windows System Administrator -- Northern NJ
Carroll-Net is a leading Technology Service Provider.
We’re seeking a resourceful Windows System Administrator to help manage our mission-critical datacenter. You will support customers from our Hackensack, NJ headquarters where you’ll be based. From time-to-time, you’ll also work onsite at customer offices around the region.

In this role you will:
• Manage daily server operations
• Help to ensure 24x7 data-center uptime
• Maintain firewalls, antivirus and identity management
systems
• Manage data recovery and backup services
These are some of the technologies you’ll encounter
• FreeBSD and Windows 2003 Data servers
• Citrix Servers
• Active Directory, Apache and IIS
• SQL Server and PostgreSQL
• Cisco Routers and Switches (OSPF Routing)
• EMC Storage Array
• VMWare Server Farms
You need to have a strong understanding of TCP/IP networking protocols and principles. This position has an on-call responsibility.
Understanding how to integrate Windows and Unix is something that will definitely help you in this job. You can virtually guarantee yourself the position if in addition to the above requirements, you also have an MCSE or equivalent Microsoft certification, but you must have AT LEAST an MCP certification. If you’ve got the “right stuff”, we’d be willing to sponsor an MCP cert.
