To date, Navarro holds 17 percent market share in South Florida with its 19 stores in Miami-Dade and one in Broward County, ranging from 9,000 to 32,000 square-foot stores, with 1,300 employees and annual sales in the $220 million, making Navarro the most profitable performer on a sales per square foot basis than any other drug chain in recent years. The company is still expanding, with plans to open additional stores each year. An ideal store size now is around 25,000 square feet, much larger than the 2,000 square-foot Pharmacy the family began with here in 1961.
